With an all-star lineup of French selectors and producers, Paris Now! is dedicated to the movers and shakers of contemporary French dance, experimental and bass music. On the heels of the Paris Now! video series and as an immersive extension of the Paris Musique Club exhibition at la Gaîté Lyrique, this event adds another layer to our celebration of current innovations in the City of Light. Expect rare back-to-back sessions, extended sets and special appearances featuring the finest from Paris and beyond.

The Driver est surtout connu sous le pseudonyme de Manu le Malin, fer de lance de la techno hardcore en France. La vie du musicien bascule lorsqu'il découvre les raves. Il écume alors les soirées d'Ile-de-France et développe un style très personnel, passé de la techno trans à l'hardcore. Couronné par son sens du rythme, la noirceur de sa musique et sa grande technicité, Manu s'est également essayé au chant avec le groupe Palindrome. Sous l'étiquette The Driver, le musicien montre un visage plus sage et éclectique.

Il partage ses platines avec un autre pionnier de la techno hardcore hexagonale : The Hacker. Connu pour sa longue et riche collaboration avec Miss Kittin, le producteur s'illustre avec une techno matinée d'electro et de new wave. En cela, la griffe de The Hacker est sombre, mélancolique mais terriblement dansante. Un style partagé avec Gesaffelstein, avec qui il a créé le label Zone Music. The Hacker a sorti l'an dernier son troisième album solo : Love/Kreft, un double hommage à Kraftwerk et à H.P. Lovecraft.
