Eric Prydz (born July 19, 1976) is a Swedish DJ and producer.

In 2004, Prydz released the single "Call on Me," which sampled Steve Winwood's single "Valerie." The single was a success and topped the UK singles charts for five weeks. The song also became number one in Germany, and remained on the German Top-100 single chart for six consecutive weeks.
He is also known for his cover remix of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" entitled "Proper Education" and also for the songs "Re-Match" and "Europa."
He also released the summer 2008 single "Pjanoo" which has become a huge hit in the UK, reaching the number 2 position with only download sales.

Aside from producing music Prydz also runs the record labels Pryda, Pryda Friends, and Mouseville, which release most of his own music. On Pryda, he releases music as Pryda. On Mouseville, he produces under Cirez D.
In 2006, he released a remixed version of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall", entitled "Proper Education," with a music video.
Until recently, Prydz had only played shows in and around Europe as he has a fear of flying.[1]

Eric Prydz (né le 19 juillet 1976) est un DJ et producteur de musique suédois de house plus particulièrement connu pour le megatube de 2004 Call On Me et pour le clip vidéo sexy l’accompagnant.
L’original de Call On Me a en réalité été créé par le groupe Together Thomas Bangalter (des Daft Punk) et DJ Falcon. Eric Prydz a proposé de le produire et de partager les droits équitablement avec eux.

En 2006, son nouveau tube Proper Education est plus une reprise d’Another Brick in the Wall des Pink Floyd qu’un morceau original. Il est un des rares artistes à avoir obtenu l’autorisation d’une reprise sur un morceau des Pink Floyd.
Eric Prydz a également utilisé plusieurs autres pseudo comme Cirez D, et Sheridan. Il dirige le label Pryda Recordings sous le pseudo Pryda Il fait aussi partie de la Swedish House Mafia avec Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso et Axwell.
Sa musique est un mélange de progressive house, disco house et de techno.

Prydz a produit d’autres chansons telles que Spooks, Nile (le nom de sa petite amie, Elin, écrit à l'envers), Sucker DJ , Human Behaviour sous le nom de Pryda, Slammin et Woz Not Woz (avec Steve Angello), et remixé le hit des Shapeshifters Lola's Theme et le single Miracles des Pet Shop Boys 2003.
De nombreux remix lui sont attribués comme Good Life de Inner ou le fameux Reach up (for the sunrise) de Duran Duran.
Plus récemment, Eric, avec Axwell, (sous le pseudo AxEr), a coproduit le morceau de musique 123.
En mars 2008, Eric Prydz sort le morceau "Pjanoo".

En octobre 2008, il sort son nouvel EP "Evouh" sous le pseudo Pryda signé sur le label Pryda Recordings.
Cet opus est un réel succès, puisque les 3 titres qui le composent occupent une place dans le Top10 du site de vente de musique électronique en ligne : Beatport

Aujourdh'ui, Eric ne fait plus partie de la Swedish House Mafia
